Our advocacy message is that community-based food and nutrition programs are instrumental in helping to prevent and manage disease, mitigate premature institutionalization, and lower healthcare costs. CNC is committed to increasing policy makers’ awareness of this message. We advocate in Sacramento and Washington DC on behalf of our members and the vital role they play in the communities.
A critical aspect of our advocacy agenda is assisting members with their grassroots efforts. The old adage “all politics are local” reflects the important role and obligation our members have in personally contacting their elected officials and educating them on community-based food and nutrition programs.
